New things

Pam recently started her blog up again, so I went to look for mine and found it.  To continue where I left off.

We ended up getting the house and have been living there happily.  New paint everywhere inside, new roof, new flooring, etc.  This summer we want to replace the patio door and add a fence in the backyard so the boys can run around without much supervision.

That's right, boys!  CJ has had a little brother Samuel Patrick Smith since July 2012.

What else should I add on here.  The whole purpose of this blog(RX-7) has been sold, but I can keep talking about family and other cars.  I ended up selling the RX-7 a few years back when I wanted to park my 2000 Subaru Outback in the garage.  We just traded the Outback last Nov 2013 for a 2011 Ford Edge AWD that Pam gets to drive.  I ended up getting the 2003 Civic hand-me-down.  :)

New House?

Last week we put an offer in on a house that we both really like, and could see ourselves living in. From the 30-40 houses we already looked at, this one seems to have everything on our perfect house list including the right pricetag.
We are trying to help out the country by buying a house owned by Fannie Mae. ;) The only problem with the govt owned house is all the paperwork they need us to fill out before the sale is starting to suck. At first we were in a bidding war against another couple, we needed to sign and initial a 15 page document to put our offer in. Then we had to raise our offer because both of our offers were under the asking price and very close to each other. After we found out our offer was accepted, we had to resign the 15 page document, and are now waiting on them to sign and return it to us. Once we get it back, then we can start all the bank paperwork.
The bidding war process and the paperwork have really stressed us out. It seems like we get our part done so quickly, and then sit around and wait for days until we hear any news. Maybe it will be over tomorrow, and we will know for sure that the house is ours! As soon as it is official, pics and plans of what we are going to do will be posted.

RX7 is alive

The RX has been sitting in the driveway for almost a year now. We finally got our garage cleaned up enough to bring it inside. First I had to get it to move because the brakes were frozen solid. On a nice Thursday afternoon while on vacation, I decided it was the day to move the car. I charged up the battery, put a new gallon or two of gas in the tank, added 1 qt of new oil, air up the tires, and after a few tries it started right up. I let it run for about 15 minutes to get nice and warm to make sure it was going to stay running. Then I tried 1st gear, nothing, brakes still stuck. Tried reverse and still nothing. On the 3rd try going forward in 1st gear, the brakes broke loose. I was able to drive the car around the parking lot to get it turned around while using the e-brake to stop me. Now, it is safe in our garage ready for me to do some more work on it.
First on the list is the new Koyo radiator. More pictures after the install.
